Common questions

How much does Cboe DataShop cost?

It depends on the order: DataShop has no price list and prices each selection of product, symbols, dates, and add-ons. On September 29, 2026 its calculator returned $6 for one day of SPY daily chains without greeks, $240 for a year of SPY with greeks, $2,100 for a year of all symbols with greeks, and $8,500 for all symbols since January 2012 with greeks. ORATS charges $599 for every strike since 2007.

Does Cboe DataShop include greeks and implied volatility?

Not by default. Greeks and implied volatility are the paid Calcs add-on on the daily, interval, and trade products, computed with a documented binomial model from the NBBO mid, at the 15:45 ET snapshot on the daily product. On September 29, 2026 its calculator priced a year of SPY daily chains at $145 without them and $240 with them. ORATS includes greeks, implied volatility, and theoretical values on every strike in the base file.

Is ORATS an alternative to Cboe DataShop or LiveVol?

For historical chains with greeks, yes. ORATS sells the daily archive since 2007 with greeks included for $599. Compared with LiveVol Pro at $420 a user a month (its February 13, 2025 price table; an older paragraph on the same page says $380), ORATS Trading Tools at $99 a month covers scanning, backtesting, broker routing, and time and sales since September 2022.
